Articles are so much easier to write after a win.

The "Boys in Purple" wound up on the wrong end of a 13-2 thrashing last night, thanks to ten walks surrendered and some uninspiring defense.

The fact that the team went a combined 6-22 (.273) and only one extra base hit, didn't help the cause.

Some will point to the lack of control as the reason why the game got out of hand early, but there were many other factors that aided in the Modsquad's worst lost since its opening season;

- The Black Jelly Beans were found to be in their bag, unopened, uneaten.

- A certain shortstop forgot to wear his lucky purple socks.

- A certain right fielder who had a career day last game while wearing sneakers, decided to punch fate in the face and switch back over to his spikes. Result: 0-2.

- The team cheer at the beginning of the game lacked the first two batters in the lineup, and was about as inspiring as President Bush's "Mission Accomplished Speech" on the deck of a navy battle cruiser.

There's always next game.
