Modsquad Reporter
The Boys in Purple kept up their winning ways, taking care of divisional rival Two Four last night.
Thanks to some key hits, a couple of defensive plays, and all around hustle on the basepaths, Modsquad was able to walk away on the winning side of a 9-3 box score.
Chris Iannantuoni fell a home run short of the cycle, popping up in his last at bat. Chris finished the game with three hits, two runs scored, and one batted in.
Modsquad catcher Frank Vitale was a key player in this weeks' victory; Vitale scored twice thanks to good ol' fashioned hustling around the bases. Vitale also collected a hit in the fifth inning.
Pete Colleta was backed up by some quality defense in the outfield last night, and the infield was able to throw out a runner trying to score thanks to a routine 4-6-2 putout.
After the game, a very distracted looking Modsquad shortstop, Nick Difranza was beating himself up for dropping a pop up and launching a few throws to first into the ozone layer.
Everybody's allowed to have bad games Nick, its ok.
Nick also backed up his stellar day in the field by going 0-3 at the plate.
The Modsquad plays two games next week; Tuesday and Friday night, both games starting at 5:45.
