Down by six early, MODSQUAD bats came alive, but eventually fell short after Reuters nailed down the rally with a three run home run in the top of the seventh.

The loss was only the second of the season, but the boys in purple still hold a tight grasp on first place.

In the 4th, batters were able to take advantage of the opposing teams miscues and inability to pay attention to the base runners. MODSQUAD bats rallied for five runs in the inning.

The boys made a dent in the scoreboard; Chris Iannantuoni and Bruce Lin each singled with an RBI. Kyle Bobek had some power behind his bat with a bases clearing double to right center. Pete Coletta’s base hit drove in “Rob L” from second which tied the game at 7. The boys in purple held Reuters in the top of the 6th and Iannantuoni’s base hit to drive in Mike Lima combined with Eric Klein’s sac fly added two runs, putting the SQUAD on top.

In the top of the seventh, with two on and one out, Coletta gave up a monster shot to no man’s land in left field. Dias had a good jump on the ball but the random picnic table stood in his way. Dias tried to signal for a ground rule double, but the umps turned a deaf ear to his pleas.
The boys had last licks in the 7th, but couldn't catch a break.

With a number of the MODSQUAD players in Phoenix, Dias’ managerial debut ended with the MODSQUAD on the wrong side of the win-loss column. Skipper Brogdon will be back following the MODSQUAD bye week.

the modsquad clone army did great. they are battle ready. i only regret we couldnt get that win. while some errors and untimely batting contributed, i pin this clearly on not have the latte cooler around. pete s made up for it with his makeshift cardboard box lined with garbage bags and ice version.

A thank you to Pete S. for his creativity and contribution of lattes that helped to cheer up the Squad after the game!! He was great on keeping the Squad motivated and cheering them on as well! Sorry I missed the cardboard box with ice set-up...if I stayed I would have been able to incorporate it in my post. haha
