MODSQUAD softball won yet another game, cruising to an 11-0
Kyle Bobek, penciled in as the starting catcher, was calling a masterful game behind the plate. Bobek's framing and pitch selection guided Pete through a no-hit bid, lasting until the fourth inning.
Skipper Alan pulled both hamstrings on the same play, an extraordinarily rare feat in sporting history, forcing him to take up the "Tools of Ignorance". Alan quickly gave the sign for the pitch, and within seconds, the no hitter was lost.
(I was forced to put that last bit in. I'm not in the habit of naming names, but I'll give you a hint: Last names rhyme with TiFranza and Bayhee).
Modsquad batters where uncharacteristically patient at the plate last night, drawing a record high number of base on balls. Granted, the other team's pitcher was a bit wild, but it's good to see the batters being a little more selective. Bruce Lin was a hitting machine, leading all batters with three base knocks.
According to Modsquader, Frank Vitale, the other team was playfully complaining that he "believed we had five outfielders", a sign that Modsquad's Grass Grazers were doing their job. The highlight of the evening was Todd Dias' diving catch that nearly shattered his wrist in fourteen different places.
On a side note, all Modsquad players are reminded to sign the Injury Release Forms sent out in an email by Coach Brogdon.
Modsquad fans were again showing up in full force. Oppossing teams appear to be intimidated by a growing mass of purple and light purple in the stands.
What a game guys! So proud of the MODSquad!!! It's always so much fun watching you all play!! Looking forward to next week's game! :)
its great to have fans cheer the players on...are they available for other life events- meetings, dates, family reunions?
