MODSQUAD and company lost a heart breaker to "Two Four" tonight, 11-10.

The SQUAD found themselves in an eight run deficit after the first two innings, but battled back to make it interesting. Trailing by two late in the game, the boys in purple found themselves on the wrong end of a horrible call by the home plate umpire.

A fly ball off the bat of a Two Four batter sailed deep into left field, curving foul as it plummeted back to earth. Left fielder Chris Lima attempted to signal that the ball landed foul, but the umpire, in all his blind glory, decided that the ball was indeed fair. Four years of acting and on camera classes at Quinnipiac University went down the drain, as Lima's pathetic attempts to dramatically convince the ump that the ball landed foul, went absolutely nowhere. Two Four eventually scored what would be the game winning run moments later.

Lima was unavailable for comment after the game.

Adapting extremely well to his new position, Modsquad second baseman turned backstop, Frank Vitale held his own in a collision at the plate. Moments later, Vitale singled in his next at bat.

Chris Iannantuoni lead the team in hitting again this week, collecting three hits. Iannantuoni now has ten hits this season.

The MODSQUAD are off next week. Their next game is June 3rd, at 5:45.

  2. Anonymous Said,

Whoever this reporter is, they really made Lima look like the reason why we lost... I guess we had the same umps who did the Mets/Yankees game Sunday night!

  3. Anonymous Said,

Such a pleasure to play on a team that never gives up and be supported by exuberant fans who expose themselves to jail time in the quest for victory.

    Latte Anyone?
